Mark 2:1-12

Jesus entered Capernaum…AGAIN…where is He re-entering your life?

Jesus was in a house (likely could have been Peter’s) and it is so crowded no one else can get in…do you and I love our church or Bible study so much because Jesus is at the center that we can’t wait to tell people to join us?

Jesus “preached the Word!”

The four friends were so dedicated to their paralytic friend they cut a hole in “Peter’s” roof!

Jesus saw not the friends faith but the paralytic’ faith…why?  Because at some point he had to give his friends permission to help him get to Jesus…who is helping you today?  Drop your pride and let them:). Who can you help today?  You may need to be inconvenienced a bit in order to get your friend in front of Jesus.

The paralytic has his sins forgiven first, then his physical condition healed, then Satan encourages  the scribes and Pharisees with a critical spirit judging and discouraging.

Try not to discourage the work of God especially when it is done differently than you are used to seeing things done.

Why?

Because the paralytic and his friends and all us experienced this:

“Immediately he arose, took up the bed and went out in the presence of them all, so that all were amazed and glorified God saying, we never saw anything like this.”

They were AMAZED!

Funny aside…the paralytic simply ignored the discussion of “is this possible” and “should it be done” and after years of suffering and pain simply picks up the bed he was on for years but no longer identifies him with, and walks out in front of everyone.  I wonder how “Peter” felt after everyone left when he looked up through the roof of his house at the stars and moon and just thought “geez, my friends did a number on my roof to let my paralyzed friend down, so I will have to fix that tomorrow but boy was Jesus magnificent tonight.”

Guys, let’s allow Jesus to do “exceedingly and abundantly above and beyond what you can expect or imagine,” today!
