Just be yourself!
“Your riches are corrupted and your garments are moth-eaten.”
It is ok, to not pursue stuff, relationships, events, goals and things that cost a lot of money but are for you…not good for you! Money is a useful tool. The LOVE of money is the root of all evil. Try not to abuse people or take advantage of people in finances. Give yourself freedom and permission to get off the crazy materialism merry-go-round.
“Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord.”
Our lives are short…70 if by good fortune 80 years. So, we will leave all our money and stuff behind. But the things we do by faith for Jesus will be waiting for us in heaven. Are you a Christian? Are you looking forward to Jesus coming back for us?
Remember, “the Lord is very compassionate and merciful.”
He is encouraging you today to, let go of the things that have a hold on you. To try and have a heavenly perspective today. To drink in God’s mercy and compassion.
Just be yourself!
Then, because you are now no longer in bondage to stuff and others expectations you are free from self-justifications that require you to make your point with, “I swear to God,” or “Let me be honest,” or other flowery and insecure ways we try and make a point. Instead, “let your Yes be Yes, and your No be No, lest you fall into judgment.”
Just be yourself!
By the way, the farmer in this passage while patiently waiting for his crop to bare fruit will enjoy precisely what he has planted. Remember to plant good fruit of kindness, love, hope and joy in your life too. Here is why: as you wait patiently you will “receive the early and later rain.”
Rain always speaks of life giving, refreshing and provision and favor from God. He has all that in store for you as you stop trying to be or represent yourself as something or someone you are not and just rest in Jesus’ love for you and simply:
JUST BE YOURSELF!
