YDI March 2017 – Newletter

First, THANK YOU! Phew! It feels like we have made it part of the way through some major changes and we can see the light at the end of that tunnel! I wanted to update you as we thank you for praying and supporting us at Youth Development Inc., (YDI), and Calvary Chapel University, (CCU).

Loving Jesus and Sharing His Love Worldwide Everyday

1. Thanks for praying for us…it truly is the most important thing we need and appreciate about what you have done for us.

2. For all who have donated money or resources, again, thank you! We have invested a lot toward the CCU application for accreditation to TRACS, which has now been submitted for review! THANK YOU!

3. The merge with YDI and CCU has been enormously blessed by God. Examples include the immediate increase at the YDI lodge of camps and retreats coming up, leaders living onsite and the most recent blessing of God selling our lake property! This sale has resulted in YDI having some much needed resources to put in new tile in bathrooms, build a new maintenance building next to our barn, paint for our duplexes, prepare plans to build a new fellowship hall and expand rooms to allow for larger groups to enjoy the lodge and the Lord, and much more!

4. Our very recent partnership with Calvary Chapel Bible College (CCBC), Murietta has started out with a very loud bang! In our first three days we had dozens of phone calls, emails and sign ups from their college fair. The students want to transfer into CCU to complete their degree from CCU!! Thank you Lord!

5. Our faculty, staff, deans, directors and students serve at Calvary Chapels around the world like: CC Philly, CC Old Bridge, CC Ft. Lauderdale, CC Las Vegas, CC San Diego, CC Glenwood Springs, CC Lone Mountain, CC Palm City, CC Santa Barbara, CC Pacific Hills, CC Costa Mesa, CC Downey, Horizon Indianapolis, Horizon San Diego, Port Loyola CC in Belize City, CC Merida Norte, CC Uganda and many, more! The Lodge in Head Waters serves many churches from many denominations as well as Calvary Chapels like: CC Lynchburg, CC Fredericksburg, Horizon Harrisonburg, Rock Ministries in Philly, Cornerstone Chapel, Salisbury Christian School, Blue Ridge Christian, Grace Christian School, Faith Christian School, Calvary Chapel Flauvana, CC Miami, CC Lighthouse United and many more!
Here are our updated prayer requests:

1. Believe it or not we will be hitting the road and meeting with pastors, superintendents, para-church featuring ministry leaders and others. Our footprint in all our areas where we have leaders is growing. So, we would like to ask for prayer for donations of a car, truck or RV so we can wrap with our CCU @ YDI logo.
2. We are also looking for a boat to be used for meetings with donors, sharing with kids, ministry groups we partner with and more. We have a family who has committed to covering the first year’s slip rent for a boat should anyone be blessed to give theirs away and get the tax write-off and joy of knowing many kids and others will be on it weekly.
3. We are prayerfully moving forward to improve many aspects of what we do at YDI and CCU. As noted, we are already improving the Head Waters Lodge. We need pretty much everything in order to build our new addition of a fellowship hall on the Lodge property, which, God willing, will allow 50-75 more campers, almost doubling our capacity. We could also double our summer Doulos Servant program and double the number of CCU or Gap year students serving and living at the Lodge. As you pray, the specifics of what we need, by faith, include:

• Favor with county planning, architectural renderings, permits
• Construction supplies like foundation work, electrical, lumber, roofing, flooring, and dry wall
• And the list goes on

Ok, that was a bunch of blessings from the Lord. We are thankful for you and if you want to send us your prayer requests please know we do pray for you too!
God is delivering His promise in Isaiah 54:2-4
“Enlarge the place of your tent, and let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings; Do not spare; lengthen your cords, and strengthen your stakes. For you shall expand to the right and to the left, and your descendants will inherit the nations, and make the desolate cities inhabited. Do not fear, for you will not be ashamed; neither be disgraced, for you will not be put to shame; for you will forget the shame of your youth, and will not remember the reproach of your widowhood anymore.”
