Turn your next discipleship journey into real university credit. Through our partnership with Christian Expedition (CE), CCU students—and even qualified guests—can earn academic credit on select faith-forming tours around the world!

How the College-Credit Pathway Works

1) Pick your trip
Choose from approved Christian Expedition itineraries (public tours, a trip you lead, or CCU’s annual trip).

2) Enroll with CCU for credit

3) Register your travel with Christian Expedition
You’ll book your trip and pay all travel costs directly to CE. A separate CCU course fee applies for the academic credit.

4) Travel & complete your course requirements
Fulfill the syllabus requirements (e.g., learning activities tied to your itinerary), and CCU will transcript your credit!

Who qualifies?

  • CE trip participants on eligible itineraries

  • CCU’s annual FAM trip participants

  • Group leaders traveling with CE (from churches, ministries, schools, or other audiences)

CCU Familiarization Trip

Every year (typically January–February), Christian Expedition will organize a special 9-day  experience designed for CCU faculty, staff, students, and alumni—with special pricing for pastors and ministry leaders. These immersive, on-site learning journeys allow you to experience the land, context, and history behind the Scriptures—while opening a pathway to gaining CCU credit!

What to expect

  • 9 days, including travel

  • Destinations may include Israel, Greece, Turkey or European Reformation sites.

  • A spiritual, academic, and cultural experience curated by trusted guides and CCU/CE partners!

Familiarization trips are an ideal way for pastors and ministry leaders to preview the experience and plan a future church or school tour with CE. Exclusive incentives for qualified group leaders are available—ask CE for details!

Do I need to be a current CCU student to earn credit?
No. If you’re not currently enrolled, apply to take the course connected to your trip!

Which trips qualify?
Three paths qualify: (1) a CE trip you lead for your church/ministry/school; (2) CCU’s annual familiarization trip; or (3) an eligible public CE tour.

How long are the trips?
Familiarization trips are typically nine days, including travel. Other trip lengths vary by itinerary.

When are Familiarization trips offered?
Generally in January and/or February each year.

What does it cost?
Travel expenses are paid to Christian Expedition. A separate CCU course fee applies for academic credit. Contact us for current details.

Can pastors get priority or special pricing?
Yes— Familiarization trips prioritize pastors and ministry leaders connected to CCU. Additional group-leader incentives may be available.
