Do you offer Scholarships?
Once you have been accepted as a CCU student, you are eligible to apply for a scholarship. Calvary Chapel University holds to the following scholarship philosophy: We will partner with the student and his or her family to arrange scholarship for the student’s education, using the individual’s resources, the family’s resources, and CCU’s resources. Demonstrated need will be measured by a consistent and equitable need-analysis system. To be fair to all students seeking a scholarship, need must be based objectively on a family’s resources — that is, on their ability to pay, not their willingness to pay. Special circumstances will be considered on a case-by-case basis, and we use our professional judgment to determine when adjustments can be made. Scholarship Application

Students must complete the Scholarship Application, maintain a minimum of a 2.0 or higher GPA and successfully complete at least one course in 4 of 9 modules a year.

Is there a scholarship for Pastors?
CCU offers Senior Pastors and their immediate families (wife, son, and daughter) a special 50% scholarship, provided they complete the Scholarship Application. Maintain a minimum of a 2.0 or higher GPA and stay continuously enrolled in at least one course in 4 of 9 modules a year.
How often do courses start up?

There are new courses starting up every month. Each course lasts 8 weeks long, so modules of courses overlap and are designed to fit into your schedule. Here is that link to access our Academic Calendar:

How can I find if courses I’ve already taken can transfer into CCU?
You contact your previous college/university institution and have them mail an official transcript to:

Calvary Chapel University

Attn: Registrar

Email: transcripts@calvarychapeluniversity.edu

It should take 1-2 weeks to review and get a response as to how many and what units transfer to CCU.

What should I expect in regards to the time commitment and my level of interaction in each course?

Each course is 8 weeks long. In that 8 week period, most courses are broken up into 8, one week units.  We designed the rigor for each course to be approximately 7-10 hours a week, per course.  The expectation is that students are logging into each course throughout each week interacting with the instructor and other students via the discussion board, tests, quizzes, projects, etc.. All courses are asynchronous.  Students are not required to log in, take a test or watch a video conference on a particular day and time. Most weekly assignments are due by Sunday night 11:59 pm.

What kind of assignments and activities will I be doing in a CCU online course?

CCU is a university of higher learning! Depending on your program level, students may be required to read various texts, take tests, write research papers, complete projects, watch videos, listen to audio files, create multimedia presentations, participate in online forums/chats, serve in your church or community, make oral presentations, etc.

Can I “audit” a CCU academic course?

Yes, once you have been accepted as a CCU student, you may audit any CCU course offered at a cost of $175 per course (maximum of 3). As an audit student, you will not be issued any college credit for auditing a course. Auditors are not required to turn in any assignments or take tests. Audit students are welcome to participate in the course’s online discussion forums.

Does CCU offer credit for life experience?

Yes! We recognize that many adults have already learned many life skills that would be redundant in taking a particular course. To see if you qualify, fill out the online Prior Experiential Credit Application

Can I just call or email someone about CCU?
